Your preparation checklist

Before discussing a filing, gather your proposed LLC name, principal and mailing addresses, registered agent name and Florida street address, and the people authorized to manage or sign. Do not send SSNs or identity documents in chat.

Before you file

  1. Review your business name

Check the official Sunbiz records. A name search does not clear trademark rights.

  2. Choose your registered agent

You need a Florida street address and a registered agent who accepts the appointment. A PO box is not enough.

  3. Gather the filing details

Prepare your principal and mailing addresses, registered agent details and the information required by the official Articles of Organization.

  4. Review and submit

Required state fees total $125. Review all entries and authorize the submission yourself or through a clearly agreed service scope.

  5. Keep your records and plan ahead

Save the state's confirmation. Plan your annual report, and check any separate licensing or tax requirements with the appropriate agency or professional.

Apply for a free EIN after formation.

After your LLC is approved, use our guide to apply for an EIN yourself. The IRS issues EINs for free. You apply directly through the official IRS site. We provide a step-by-step guide and never collect your SSN/ITIN.

Online eligibility and foreign-owner cases need review. No EIN application is started by this site.

Not sure which entity to use?

That is a legal and tax decision. Consult a licensed attorney or tax professional. Filing help is not a substitute for that advice.
