Find the actual Florida business record.
Use the official Sunbiz search for LLC names, status, filing history and document numbers. This is a guide, not a copy of the state registry.
Search by business name
Use the official entity-name search. The state's guide says the full name is not necessary: distinctive words or a partial name can return nearby alphabetical results. Open the matching record and check its document number and status.
Open official entity-name search →Search by document number
The Division of Corporations assigns a document number to the filing. It is not your IRS EIN. The official guide says to use the digit zero, not the letter O, in a document number. A Record Not Found result may mean the number was entered incorrectly; retry by name.
What to review in the result
- Exact legal name and Florida document number.
- Active/inactive status, filing and effective dates.
- Principal and mailing addresses.
- Registered agent, managers or authorized people.
- Filed document images and report history.
A name search does not clear every right
Finding no exact result is not state approval and does not clear trademark rights. Filing eligibility and naming requirements still need review. Consult a licensed professional about trademark or entity-selection questions.
